I've always been an outdoorsy person with a passion for fishing. Back in 2021, I lived near a couple of lakes and rivers, and since I was working from home, I could sneak out for an hour or two of fishing almost every day. I preferred float fishing using very light floats, so I generally avoided days with strong winds. I started looking for a service that could simply notify me if it wouldn't be windy the next day. Surprisingly, despite the bunch of weather websites and apps out there, none offered such a straightforward feature. 🙈

Along the way, I explored some 'fishing forecast' services, and here I also was disappointed. In the end, I got tired of manually checking the weather forecast, and that's how my private alpha version of SendMeForecast came to life. 😄 The first iteration was super simple: it checked the weather forecast for my location and sent me a Telegram message if the next day was wind-free, that's all.

Over time, I expanded the service to use more criteria for detecting the best fishing times - not just avoiding days with strong winds. Eventually, the project outgrew simple text notifications. I considered building a mobile app, but after weighing the pros and cons, I decided to keep things as simple as possible and accessible for everyone. That's why I settled on delivering fishing forecasts as easy-to-read images, sent directly to your email or messenger.

Today, SendMeForecast is essentially a "two in one" product:

• A 'good weather' notifier that helps you avoid missing the best weather;
• A reasonable fishing forecast service that enables you to schedule your fishing trips at the best fishing times.
